MenuBoard is operated by Rectrix Automations Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information on the menuboard.ca website. MenuBoard's restaurant and ordering services are not open yet; when they launch, this policy will be updated to cover them before any information is collected through them.

What we collect
When you visit the site
To deliver pages to you, our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services, through Amazon CloudFront) necessarily processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. We do not keep access logs for this website.
Analytics, only with your consent
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, the site that referred you, and how you interact with the page. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features and advertising cookies are turned off.
If you click Decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set.
Your consent choice
We remember your cookie choice in your browser's local storage (menuboard-analytics-consent). It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use them only to reply to you.
We do not ask you to create an account, we have no forms on this site, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
Why we use it
- To deliver and secure the website.
- With your consent, to measure visits and improve the site.
- To answer your questions.
Who we share it with
We use service providers who process information on our behalf and under contract:
- Amazon Web Services: website hosting (stored in Canada; delivered through CloudFront's global network).
- Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Bunny.net: domain name system (DNS).
Some of this information may be processed outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We assess these transfers and rely on contractual protections from our providers.
How long we keep it
- Google Analytics data: kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Emails: kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of our correspondence, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Declining removes our analytics cookies from your browser.
- Access and correction: ask what personal information we hold about you and have it corrected.
- Withdraw consent and, where applicable, ask us to stop disseminating or to delete your information.
Send requests to hello@menuboard.ca. We may need to confirm your identity, and we respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to our systems is limited to what each person and service needs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we handle.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 14.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
